Artled Productions CIC | August 2024
A community initiative raising funds and awareness for dementia charities, including the British Heart Foundation and the Alzheimers Society. Over July and August 2024, the project spanned care home workshops, talks, school assemblies and culminated in three performances of a new stage play by A. L. Dowie.
The Lost Life of Tilly MacLeod is an exploration of identities: formed by experience, hidden in secrets, exposed by dementia and destroyed by discoveries. Tilly MacLeod lives a quiet life in West Kilbride, Scotland. As the play progresses, Tilly’s hidden past is revealed to the audience gradually through a series of embedded films that portray Tilly’s memories and her increasing dementia.
